T-Sport use 6-post rig tests to evaluate car setup and to gain a deeper understanding of setup options prior to arriving at the race circuit. The 4-post rig at Multimatic (with 2 aero loaders added to simulate downforce levels and make the results more accurate) uses servo hydraulic rams to test and evaluate a variety of vehicle dynamic parameters.
Key parameters including natural frequency and damping ratios, tyre dynamic stiffness and component linear stiffness can be calculated and then adjusted; resulting in an enhanced ride quality and more consistent tyre contact patch which ultimately improves lap time and driver consistency
